Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities
MSTS is seeking a Records Coordinator (Administrative Assistant II) position for SEO Procedures, Records and Document Control (PR&DC). The work location is in Mercury, Nevada. The position will be providing Records Management and Document Control support to SEO facilities at the Nevada National Security Site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a Lead Records Coordinator in managing records and document control activities at high-hazard and nuclear facilities in support of mission-critical operations at the Nevada National Security Site.
- Conduct thorough reviews of facility records to ensure authentication, accuracy, and completeness; perform scanning, indexing, and quality assurance checks for integration into the electronic records management system.
- Maintain and update records and non-records file inventories, including Records Inventory Disposition Schedules (RIDS); locate and retrieve records in response to formal requests.
- Prepare transmittals, coordinate records pickups, and provide backup support across departments while interfacing with internal customers to fulfill records management and document control requirements.
- Apply knowledge of National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) schedules and disposition guidelines to support compliance and proper lifecycle management of records.
- Assist in enforcing adherence to established records management policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure data integrity and accountability.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years’ of professional level experience, which provided a sound working knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, or equivalent training and experience.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, human resources, and coordination of people and resources.
- Skill to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.
- Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to resolve problems and ensure that requirements are completed efficiently and on time.
- Able to apply knowledge of principles, concepts and theory related to professional business discipline/field related to the position and employ a systems approach to address issues and to define and resolve problems.
- Able to apply knowledge and experience to compose correspondence and technical reports and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specific.
- Able to exercise discretion and sound judgment in performing work and contribute recommendations for improving operations/processes.
- Ability to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
- Must be highly organized and able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, accomplish work, and meet required deadlines.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people inside and outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government and other external sources in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.

- Records management and document control experience desired.
- The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
- Schedule 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2 , “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709 , “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is:
$63,856.00 - $95,784.00.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
