Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under minimum supervision lays out, constructs or installs, repairs, and maintains water and gas distribution systems, related facilities and auxiliary equipment and equipment utilizing water, gas and heat distribution services.
- The hours of operation/shift for this position are Mon-Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 6-yrs total experience composed of 4-yrs apprenticeship plus 2-yrs experience, or
- 6-8 yrs. total experience composed of formal trade school plus minimum 2-yrs experience, or
- 8-yrs experience (no formal training).
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of NFPA 85 – Boiler and Combustion Systems Hazards Code.
- Knowledge of boiler system corrosion control methods.
- Experience with fuel oil handling and spill control methods.
Environmental, Health, and Safety Requirements:
• Ability to do heavy lifting > 30 lbs.
• Ability to do moderate lifting < 30 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders.
• Work outdoors/cold environments.
• Work in warm environments.
• Moving machinery.
• Use of powered and air operate hand-tools.
• Use of respirator and other related safety equipment.
• Physical coordination dexterity and balance.
• Ability to wear proper PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.

The salary per hour for this position is $41.07.
