The expected hiring range for this position is:
$17.75-$30.00.

About the Role:
Fermilab’s Neutrino Division is seeking motivated Undergraduate Research Assistant to join our team under direct supervision. This opportunity is designed for students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), or Computing and Accelerator Science programs, offering a chance to gain hands-on experience by working alongside our expert staff on impactful projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research and projects that advance national and global scientific initiatives. What your day-to-day as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Fermilab will look like:
• Collaborate with staff in STEM or Computing and Accelerator Science disciplines to provide technical assistance on project-based tasks and research.
• Investigate, define, and propose solutions to assigned technical and scientific challenges.
• Assist with data analysis, prototype assembly, calibration, test set-up, facility operations, and the application of modeling and simulation tools.
• Contribute to the overall operation and advancement of departmental projects and initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
• Adhere to and perform all duties in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
• Enrollment as an undergraduate student in an accredited college or university.
• Some prior research or technical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technical skills pertinent to the assigned tasks (specific skills will vary by assignment).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and analyze technical challenges.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Work Arrangement:
Please note that the described work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs and is not guaranteed to be final.
• Hybrid: is a work arrangement in which an employee as part of an ongoing regular schedule, works at an alternative worksite in the United States (e.g., an employee’s residence) on some days and at the primary worksite on other days. Requires an approved hybrid work request for one or more days a week worked remotely within the United States on a routine basis.
