Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry level Materials Engineer to join our growing Post Irradiation Examinations (PIE) Engineering team in Niskayuna, NY! The PIE unit is responsible for the production of nondestructive and destructive examinations data in the Radioactive Materials Laboratory, and the KAPL Low Level Examination Facility. These facilities and their technical capabilities are unique in the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.
As part of the role, the Materials Engineer will perform engineering evaluations and analyses and make engineering recommendations for all aspects of assigned tasks. Cognizant areas may include planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of nuclear, mechanical, structural or electrical components, systems and equipment and facilities. Work may also include chemical or materials evaluations, design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, engineering methods and software development, and analysis of vendor's procedures and systems for quality control or manufacturing surveillance.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.

Pay Range
$62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
