Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Central Characterization Program (CCP) Project Manager to join our team located inLos Alamos, NM.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage a highly skilled and multi-disciplined organization of approximately 25 people for the Central Characterization Program at LANL to ensure the applicable scope of work is executed in a safe, compliant and efficient manner reflective of a strong Conduct of Operations culture. The preferred candidate will demonstrate success in the application project management skills coupled with positive leadership techniques to achieve and maintain a cohesive and motivated team. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute CCP projects in accordance with established project management methodologies and standards
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and ensure alignment with stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners/vendors
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or roadblocks, and take proactive measures to address issues and ensure project success
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and report on financial status to stakeholders
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all project team members
- Conduct regular project status meetings, prepare project reports and presentations, and provide updates to key stakeholders as needed
- Proactively identify process improvements and best practices for the CCP.
Exempt Grade Level(s) (33-36)
Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.
- Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of professional experience, or
- Associate’s degree with six (6) years of professional experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with ten (10) years of professional experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience in the management, characterization and/or disposition of radioactive and hazardous waste/material.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational safety, conduct of operations, and quality assurance programs.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in a technical or scientific environment.
- Two (2) years DOE Category 2 Nuclear Facility experience .

Minimum salary $103,045 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
